It was a gift to reflect and vision together as a parish over the last number of weeks to help inform our next mutual ministry goals. The results both surprised and did not surprise me at all (in a wonderful way!)

Through it all, one thing emerged clearly to me – that we are hungry for further connection:  with God, as a church, and with the wider community. In a very Trinitarian way, each of these is distinct while at the same time interconnected and inseparable from one another.

Of course, this is a very high-level vision. So, I was pleased that some areas of focus emerged: music, food, and children, youth and families. If we adopt these, they will not exclude other work or projects that we may choose to pursue. Instead, I pray they will help us direct our energy, prayer, and attention as a parish in our immediate future.

If this feels right—where God is indeed leading us—I pray that we embrace it with enthusiasm, working and praying for it to be part of our joining in with what God is already doing, for a through us in the Sea to Sky.

Thanks be to God!

CONNECT
     with God
          as a Church
               in the Community

THROUGH…

Music
·      Increase music at services.
·      Repeat “favourite hymns” in the summer.
·      Find at least one other opportunity to make music together over the year (i.e. choir, jams, etc).

Food
·      Have monthly opportunities for whole-parish potlucks or ‘feasts’ to gather and get to know one another.

Children, Youth & Families
·      Hire a children, youth and family worker this year.
·      Plan one all-age, whole-parish retreat to Camp Artaban.
·      Discern one new area of children/youth/family ministry to try out for this year.
