For the last two weeks of July and the first two weeks of August we will be doing “these are a few of my favourite hymns,” and singing some of our community’s favourite pieces of music every Sunday. For these weeks, you will hear a little more about these hymns and why folks chose them in these back-page reflections!
May our hearts be lifted, to the glory of God, through this music.
Thanks be to God!

Jesus Loves Me (Wayne K.)
Sharon loves this from Sunday School days..loves the words..often sings the song and knows every word.
I Want Jesus to Walk with Me (David H.)
This has been a very special family hymn since childhood in Sunday school and then we carried it on with our children and now grandchildren and great grandchildren. Cameron has certainly been wonderful in continuing the tradition of featuring this wonderful and meaningful praise for Jesus being our guiding light. Blessings all.
Make Me a Channel of Your Peace (Joy B.)
I picked this hymn, as it was my mum's favourite hymn, and I find myself hearing it in my sleep or when I wake up. I also love it. Makes me feel close to her.
As the Deer Pants for the Water (Debbie F.)
This has been a favourite from when I first started going to St. Johns. It was sung several times when we had a choir and I remember several people who aren't around any more and I can see their faces. It is a nice way to have fond memories. I really like the song and we don't sing it any more.
Go Now in Peace (Wayne K.)
Sharon & I attended church as snowbirds in Arizona for 15 years...the hymn "Go Now in Peace" is like a special prayer! We would close every service with 100 people belting out this song!...
