Chalking the Doors

If you would like to chalk the doors for the Epiphany home blessing, here are a few options of what you can do (feel free to mix and match!) 

  1. Read Matthew 2:1-12
  2. Offer up to God your intentions, hopes and prayers for the year. 
  3. Pray: 

Loving God, bless this household. May we be blessed with health, goodness of heart, gentleness, and abiding in your will. We ask this through Christ our Savior. Amen. 

  1. Write over your doorway: 20+C+M+B+22

The numbers stand for the year. The letters represent the three traditional names of the Magi: Caspar, Melchior and Balthazar, as well as the Latin phrase Christus Mansionem Benedicat (May Christ bless this home). 

  1. Pray: 

The three Wise Ones followed the star to Bethlehem and the home of Jesus two thousand and twenty-two years ago. May Christ bless our home and remain with us throughout the year. Amen. 

  1. Pray the Lord’s Prayer.

St. Bernard’s

St. Bernard’s will not be meeting in Maury Young this Wednesday. Instead, Rev. Cameron will be in Whistler chalking some doors. Please contact him if you would like to arrange this for a Whistler home or business.
